Starting point

Lincolnshire
NG32 1BZ

This will be a very gentle ride that is designed for those wanting to increase their distance and meet like minded folk. This is a free of charge ride where we shall leave the Green in Barrowby and make our way to the Grantham canal towpath. We can take our time along here and stop to take photos if you wish. We then fork off to the old railway bed and ride almost to Muston. After walking across the A52 we enter Easthorpe and then Bottesford, where we make our way to the magnificent St Mary's church, to visit the breath taking tombs of the Dukes of Rutland and discover the only reference to Sorcery in a Christian church. We can stop for refreshment in Bottesford before taking almost the same route back - it all looks different in reverse - during which your experienced guide will point out some little known features along the towpath. To avoid climbing Casthorpe Hill, we will take the Drift back to Barrowby, where the hill is less steep. It is quite acceptable to walk up this - or anywhere else for that matter. Your guide will be meeting one rider at the Muddle pub on the A52/Pennine Way junction at 09;30, so you can meet there if you wish and ride to the start.

Please note that helmets are recommended and are compulsory for under 16's
If the weather is warm, please remember to use sun protection and bring plenty to drink.
