THIS RIDE: A touristic ride to visit the Barbican Conservatory (
www.barbican.org.uk/whats-on/2026/event/visit-the-conservatory), which we have free tickets to get in – in turn, I ask you to donate £1 (or more if you wish) in cash directly to the Barbican. You must commit to coming if you sign up and not cancel in the last minute, as it would be unfair to put any tickets to waste. The ride is suitable for most skills but a certain confidence in traffic is required, and all bikes are suited. A bike lock is essential.
DESTINATION: We will spend some time at the Barbican, visiting the Conservatory, the Lakeside Terrace, and grabbing a coffee.
THE ROUTE: We cycle through Marylebone, Bloomsbury, Clerkenwell, Paddington and the Grand Union Canal towpath. Due to the Winter Run race taking place in Westminster, we will avoid our usual route through Embankment and Hyde Park.
We aim to be back at Roundwood Park at around 4pm.
If you find this ride fully booked, get in the waiting list as spaces always become available nearer the date. However, please do not sign up if you’re not sure you can join.
IMPORTANT POINTS: *Helmets aren't compulsory but advisable. *Check that your tyres are pumped and bring a spare inner tube and all necessary tools in case of a puncture. *If you can't make it for any reason, please cancel your space so someone else can join. *Only riders who booked themselves on the ride will be allowed to join. *Unless the weather takes a nasty turn making it unsafe or unpleasant to cycle, this ride will go ahead even if it rains. Dress for the weather and bring a raincoat just in case. *Please be advised that we video record some of our rides which are later published on YouTube. By joining them you are authorising your image to appear on the video.
