Bala to Lake Vyrnwy

This is a road ride which is 32 miles with 2800 feet of climbing
If you want to average more than 10 mph, this ride is not for you and we will be stopping many times for photos.
From Llangower we head up what I believe is the highest road pass in Wales initially staying with the banks of Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake) then the steady climb up to Moel y Cerrig Duon.
From there we traverse across to Llyn Efyrnwy (Lake Vyrnwy) via Moel Eunant which has some steep descents. Once at Vyrnwy we go anti clockwise to go the café stop close to the dam.
After the break we continue around Vyrnwy to Rhiwargor where we hit the steepest part of the ride but fortunately, it doesn’t last too long. Then we have a stead climb up to Pen Bryn-y-Fawnog where we come to the long fast descent down to Foel y Ddinas. This ends all the major climbs and descent but it’s still undulations back to the cars via Rhos-y Gwaliau and Bala Lake shore line.
