A Stroll in the Park

This ride commences at Brickcroft Nature Reserve at Longton. We head south through Ulnes Walton towards Much Hoole and Croston then Leyland's Village Park and Worden Park towards Buckshaw and Chorley Beach. (if open)
From Buckshaw we enter Cuerdon Valley Park and travel through the country park towards Bamber Bridge where we pick up the old tram road and cross into Avenam and Miller Parks turning up towards Howick Cross and Penwortham then a short loop around Hutton and back to Longton.

We'll ride at a steady pace of 10 - 12 mph on this ride and we'll keep our pace at a level so that we can all stay together.

Remember, this is not a race, but a leisurely ride at a pace to suit the slowest in the group!

Please check your bike over the night before the ride, tyres inflated, all bolts tight, lubricated. Clothing, helmet & lights checked and ready. Please ensure you have a pump and a couple of spare tubes in case of punctures and a good secure lock.

It would be great to have some new & some familiar faces on this ride, you're all welcome & I look forward to riding with you.

Please be at the start point at least 15 mins before the ride start time, ready to ride, so that we are able to get away at the stated start time.

Route rating

5 stars (3) Reviews

This ride is one of my favourites and has some stunning scenery, so much so, That I try to use this route 3 - 4 times per year to get the benefit of the changing colours with the seasons. A must for Spring, summer and Autumn.

This route uses off road cycle paths which are a bit rough on road bikes. About 60% 0f this ride is offroad

If open, we will stop at Chorley beach or alternatively just picnic at Cuerdon Country Park
