A relaxed urban ride to Camden visiting a few places and tributes to the late singer Amy Winehouse. Even though we use mostly quiet roads and some segregated cycling lanes, there are a few slightly complicated junctions which we will tackle carefully together. This is a great short ride for those wanting to give cycling on roads a try but would prefer to be in the comfort of a group. We go at the pace of the slowest and don’t leave anyone behind.

Camden was known as Amy Winehouse’s playground, so there are known places linked to her career and personal life. We first cycle in front of Roundhouse, where Amy had her last gig in a surprise appearance with her goddaughter Dionne Bromfield.

We then stop at the Stables Market at Camden Market to see her statue and also to have a coffee break. The market is very busy so it’s recommended you bring a lock to park the bike outside and walk freely around.

After our break, we push our bikes just around the corner to get to the Hawley Arms, one of Amy’s favourite pubs, where she had been seen serving drinks to clients.

We then cycle to Camden Square to see the house where Amy last lived, and passed away. Finally, on our way back home, we ride in front of an artwork wall at Harrington Square, before we reach Regent’s Park and start heading back home through Little Venice. We aim to be back by 2pm.

If you find this ride fully booked, sign up to the waiting list as spaces always become available near the date.

IMPORTANT POINTS: *Helmets aren't compulsory but highly advisable. *Make sure that your tyres are pumped and you have a spare inner tube and all necessary tools in case of a puncture. *Places are limited and sometimes get booked up, normally with a waiting list. If you get Covid-19 or can't make it for any other reason, please cancel your space so someone else can join. *Only riders who booked themselves on the ride will be allowed to join. *Unless the weather takes a nasty turn making it unsafe or unpleasant to cycle, this ride will go ahead even if it rains. Dress for the weather and bring a rain coat just in case.
