Starting from - Starting point is the free car park on Woodstock Way. Head into Caldicot from Magor and go past the Co-op and straight over the crossroads. Take the next left (signed to supermarket). This is Woodstock Way. The car park is on the right just after the Grey Hill medical centre. If coming in from Chepstow direction, take the first right after the roundabout and along until the left just before Asda (and beside Marlow vets). Turn left here and follow the road round and past Aldi. The car park is just past here on the left. There are toilets available nearby. NP26 4FF

We will head out of Caldicot via the country park and cycle out to Black Rock. Then it's along the lane towards Parkwall where we have a short downhill on the main road before heading into the quiet lanes and cycle paths to Caerwent. We then use the lanes and cycle paths to get us up the steady climb to Parc Seymour for our rest stop.
After a break we have a short sharp climb before we take on a mostly downhill route along the lanes through Llandevaud to cross the B4245 and head to Bishton and then Magor. From here it is a series of ups and downs to loop us back into Caldicot. Approx 1250ft of climbing overall.

An undulating loop from Caldicot through the lanes taking in historical sites, views and a well earned cafe stop.

This route uses mainly quiet lanes and some traffic free sections. I have tried to avoid main roads wherever possible, however there are a few short stretches so you need to be happy riding them. There are also a couple of steeper hills but nothing too challenging (and there's no shame in walking). Suitable for all bikes.

There are several potential stopping points for photos as we pass castles, coastal viewpoints and Roman ruins. We will also be stopping at the Coffee Lounge in Parc Seymour for a well earned rest break.

Please make sure you are wearing a helmet and bring some basic equipment to fix a puncture. Also a lock and money for the coffee shop.

We never leave anyone behind
