A Sunday Breeze adventure to view a few of the Portsmouth Lion Statues and visit the Portsmouth International Kite Festival. There will be frequent stops on this ride as we stop to admire each lion and take a photo.
We will cycle from Havant to the Hayling Ferry following the off road cycle path from Langstone and board the ferry to Eastney.
A single ferry crossing is £4, bikes are free.
Our first stop will be at Portsmouth Distillery where we will stop for tea/coffee. They sell a limited selection of snacks - pre-packed muffins/flapjacks/crisps/nuts so you may wish to bring your own snack.
We will cycle the length of the seafront pausing at various points to view lion statues. As we cycle along, there will be views of the Portsmouth International Kite Festival on Southsea Common.
Our lunch stop will be at Canoe Lake Cafe. Takeaway drinks and food available. There is outside seating overlooking Canoe Lake and adequate room for our bikes.
After lunch we cycle along the seafront to Eastney, through Bransbury Park before joining the off road cycle path running parallel with the Eastern Road. We then join the Farlington Marshes cycle path and make our way back to Bedhampton and Havant.
Please ensure your bike is in good working order. Check the brakes are working correctly and your tyres full inflated. Bring a lock to secure your bike outside the cafe.
Havant Leisure Centre has a pay and display car park and access to toilets.
