Hawick Cycling

A group for anyone interested in cycling and joining group rides in the Hawick area. Our aim is for people to meet other cyclists, to encourage cycling, improve fitness and help people progress in their cycling skills and confidence. Why not see some of our beautiful countryside from a bike! 

We will offer a range of rides from rides for beginners to challenging group rides. The shorter, easier going rides will be at a gentle pace and aimed at families and those wanting to build their confidence on a bike and in riding in groups. The more challenging rides are for those who can ride at an average of 12.5mph and above. They are aimed at club members, those thinking of joining a cycling club or those wanting to build up their fitness.

For the easygoing rides any bike is appropriate and we encourage families to get involved. For the faster rides a road bike, gravel, hybrid or e-bike is recommended.

The rides will take place on Saturday afternoons and weekday evenings and will mainly be on the quiet roads of the Scottish Borders, starting and ending in Hawick. With it being the Scottish Borders there are always likely to be a few hills to climb!
