From the days of the invading Romans through the stars of the modern cinema stage, Castle Combe, the so-called 'Prettiest Village in England', has hosted many a dramatic scene. Starting off from Batheaston, you will ride the Fosseway part way up Bannerdown Hill and take the lanes overlooking Box and on up past Colerne Airfield. Passing through Castle Combe, stage to Doctor Dolittle (1966), Stardust (2007) and War Horse (2011) and home to the Castle Combe Race Circuit. Returning on lanes north of Bath, through the village of Marshfield and back to Batheaston.
