Lanes, locks and a Bonnie Prince Turn' - Quad Cinema to Crew & Harper and Lock

A lovely route starting at the QUAD in the centre of Derby and heading out to Swarkstone Lock and the Crew & Harpur at Swarkstone Bridge at its furthest point. The route then turns back (just like Bonnie Prince Charlie in 1745) on a different course to the QUAD and home. It is a varied route with something for everyone. Heading out of the city centre the route takes you through the urban settings of Normanton and Sunny Hill before swinging left into the country lanes and down into Swarkstone. After taking in the Crew & Harpur and Swarkstone Bridge and Lock the course then zigzags through the modern area of Chellaston and up to Elvaston Park before joining the popular National Cycle Route 6 for the last stretch along the river and back to the city centre.
