West Wickham

A beautiful 17 mile loop out of south-east London through the country lanes of the North Downs of Surrey and Kent. Highlights include the villages of Tatsfield (with a unique cafe-stop at the Reptile Zoo) and the equally charming and unspoilt village of Downe, resting place of Charles Darwin. It's an all-tarmac ride, so road bikes are suitable. The route rises up onto the chalk escarpments on the North Downs, with Tatsfield at around 800 feet above sea level, so be ready for a good workout!
