York to Balloon Tree

This ride aims to boost your confidence and ride at a slightly more challenging pace than the cycle-path based rides we've taken recently. Heading out on quiet, local country roads, we'll still be enjoying a social ride as a group, but we'll challenge ourselves to step it up from the 10mph recent cycle-path based rides to around 12-14mph, while enjoying the local countryside. We'll head to the Balloon Tree Farm shop Cafe on our way back for a warming drink & cake.  The ride starts from Cyclestreet - our local Breeze accredited bike shop - and takes the route through local villages Stockton-on-the-Forest, Upper Helmsley, Buttercrambe & Gate Helmsley, before returning to our start point. It's a good idea to bring some water and you may also want to bring a snack.  Dress appropriately for the weather and please bring some money for the cafe stop! Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not to worry you can still take part.  If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then.  So come along for a bit of fresh air and to enjoy riding your bike in a group of like-minded women.
