We’ll meet in the station car park for this ride. The station has toilet and cafe facilities should you need them at the start or end of the ride. Bring some change for pay & display car parking at the station: £1.40 for the day.
We’re Madi and Emma – we’re friendly and we are your local Breeze champions, and we are here to help more North Somerset women get into bike riding.
This ride from Yatton to Kingston Seymour follows a pretty, rural route through the countryside along fairly quiet country lanes.
We’ll meet at Yatton station car park for a warm up and a quick
bike check. Then we’ll head out towards Kingston Seymour.
This is a ride on a mostly flat, well-surfaced, quiet route. The total length of the ride is approx 11 miles. It’s perfect for anyone who is confident riding on the road and wants to do a brisk bike ride with other women. We really welcome newcomers to our rides. It’s a good idea to bring some water and you may also want to bring a snack if you think your energy levels may need topping up along the way. Wearing a helmet is advisable, though not essential. Please bring some money if you want to stop for refreshments at Yatton Station cafe afterwards.
After a brief introduction, bike check and warm up, we will head off out of the station car park on our ride. The route is approx 11 miles long and we plan to ride at approximately 10 miles per hour. The route is fairly flat, along country lanes mostly, with the occasional incline, Railway Bridge, motorway bridge to contend with, but nothing too difficult.
The route planned takes us out of Yatton on Moor Lane, down Ham Lane and back to the main road by the Bridge Inn, before turning off into Kingston Seymour along Lampley Rd, past the fishing lakes on a figure of eight before return back to Yatton, the way we came.
Down some beautiful country lanes, there may be some mud on the road, farm animals, tractors and wildlife to spot.
We will always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind.
We hope lots of women will want to join us for this fun, free, bike ride in this beautiful part of the countryside.
Look forward to seeing you there!
Toilet facilities and cafe available at the station when you arrive and when we finish the ride.
