About the route
Starting point
Wynyard Woodland Park (formerly known as Castle Eden Walkway). Main car park just off A177 near Thorpe Thewles.
A meander up the old sustrans route 1 via Billingham, Seaton Carew and Hartlepool to Haswell, where we will decide as a whole group whether to return to the start point from there, or whether to push on to either Durham or Sunderland and back.
We will return via the traffic free Wynyard Country Park (Castle Eden Walkway) route.
Please note: the postcode listed here is not the postcode for the country park car park as I cannot find one on their website! It is the postcode for wynyard road. Follow the signs for the country park from there.
