Our ride this week takes us west from Great Bowden to Thornby, this time taking a different direction round the previous loop. We still leave Great Bowden in the direction of Foxton, past Gartree prison but this time turning towards Lubenham and on to East Farndon.

Our return route takes us down from Naseby into Sibbertoft and Theddingworth before heading eastward towards Gartree and finally Great Bowden again.

The route passes several historical locations relating to the Battle of Naseby. We pass the Cromwell monument as well as Fairfax's view of the battlefield. There is a planned cafe stop halfway at the World Peace cafe in Thornby.

We ride at a steady pace, although the length of the ride classifies it as 'challenging'. There are some hills on the route, but we always wait and regroup as needed. This is a great ride for those getting used to riding that bit further or those wanting a midweek ride with a welcoming, friendly group. We never leave anyone behind.

Please bring a water bottle. It is advisable to wear several thin layers and bring a packable waterproof jacket. You will also need some money for our cafe stop.
