Barnby Dun swing bridge car park, Barnby Dun, Doncaster.
So it's 2 years since our first outing as the Woo Woo's, on what was a damp and dull day. We had a great ride that day (12 October 2013) and had 12 riders in all - it was that enthusiasm that inspired us to make a go of it with the club.
We're doing a new route for the anniversary outing this year, starting out fro Barnby Dun at the car ppark next to the canal bridge, meeting at 10.00am with a view to setting off by 10.15am. In all we'll be covering 19 miles of countryside riding, with no dirt tracks to contend with! so it'll be fine for road bikes.
Our first rest stop and refreshment break will be at the cafe at Askern Boating Lake and the approx half way point (9 miles) and we should reach that by around 11.30 or so, time for a cuppa and a buttie before we then head out for Fenwick and, whilst it's only 3 miles further on the route, we will call off at Baxters Arms (well it would be rude not to) arriving there at around 12.30.
After Fenwick we'll be heading back for the final 7 miles of the ride via more lanes and should land back at the car park at approx 2.00pm. As this is the anniversary outing we'll then ride the short distance to the Star Inn at Barnby Dun for a post ride chat and recount tales of our many outings over the last 2 years.
