Car park at Woodfield Farm (pub)

Its that time of year once more so, in keeping with the season, we're doing a festive Christmas themed ride. You need to dress your bike (and yourself) in Christmassy decoration as we head out from Woodfield Farm (meet at 10.30am) on a steady tour of Bessacarr, Rossington, Wadworth and Balby before we return to Woodfield Farm to partake in a bit of jolly eating and drinking. There's a wee gift for the best dressed bike & rider combination, whatever the cost of your meal I'll pay half. There will be at least one pub stop en route at Wadworth though we may also call off at The Styrrup in Rossington too. This route is a mix of on and off road riding as well, some of which will be muddy (but not too much) so it's definitely one for the hybrids or mountain bikes. Its a predominantly flat ride so is suited to pretty much all abilities of riders. At this time of year its essential that you wear hi-viz clothing in the daytime and you may even need to use your lights, so do make sure you are fully prepared in this respect. We do have FREE hi-viz jackets to give away to anyone who does not have one, and similarly hi-viz rucksack covers (which can also double up as pannier covers too). As usual we ask that you remember to wear your helmet (no helmet = no ride) and clothing that is appropriate to the weather conditions. Please ensure that your your bike is roadworthy and that you have carried out basic pre ride checks (tires pumped up, nothing coming loose etc etc). You should also ensure that you are carrying a hand pump, tools (including tyre levers), at least one spare inner tube for your bicycle (though we recommend you carry two as a minimum), money and a 'phone. DISCLAIMER:- This is a purely social group of like minded people sharing a love of cycling, it is not a formal organisation nor does it have any form of legal structure. We do not profess to be trained ride leaders but do have experience of doing so. You are free to choose to ride with us but in doing so please note that you do so in acceptance that this is entirely at your own risk. We cannot accept responsibility for any loss or injury suffered as a result of your participation.
