This is a very special Breeze ride with a unique opportunity to ride across the official Women’s Tour of Britain finish line on the Great Orme!

We will be the only group permitted to ride through the finish, so this one is definitely about the experience rather than getting in lots of miles.

We'll meet at Providero and ride the first section of the Great Orme along Marine Drive, travelling anti-clockwise, before heading up the zigzags towards the race finish.

It’s only a short ride, but with around 750 ft of climbing, some riders will naturally reach the top more quickly than others. The average gradient up to the summit is around 6%, with a few short sections reaching up to 20%, so I won’t pretend it isn’t a tough climb! We’ve allowed plenty of time though, so everyone can tackle it at their own pace — and if you need to hop off and push for a short section, that’s absolutely fine. We’ll regroup near the finish and make sure everyone is back together before our big moment.

Once we are assembled, I’ll liaise directly with the Race Finish Director, who will arrange for the finish line to be opened for us. When we’re given the go-ahead, we’ll ride onto the finishing straight together and cross the official finish line.

There may be a little waiting around while we gather everyone together, or while we wait for authorisation to enter the finishing straight. Today is about enjoying the experience, not setting a fast time — although you might want to remember your time up the zigzags and compare it with the pro riders later!

Because we are being given very special access to the race finish area, we’ll need everyone to follow the instructions of our Breeze Champion on the day. We’ll be working under the direction of the race organisers and Race Directors, so timings and instructions may need to change slightly depending on what is happening around the finish.

And if a short ride just isn’t enough for you, you could always fit in a loop of the Great Orme before coming to meet us.

A brilliant chance to ride part of the Women’s Tour of Britain course, tackle the zigzags and experience crossing a professional race finish line for yourself.

Once at the summit there will be a large screen to watch the race coming down the Conwy Valley. Please make your own way back down after the race.
