Wistow for Coffee

We will be meeting Bitteswell and heading down Ashby Lane to Gilmorton, we take Mill Lane and head down towards Bruntinthorpe, we turn left headingt towards Peatling Magna, then onto to Arnesby, Fleckney, we follow the road down to Wistow. Once we've had coffee we head back towards Kilby, we turn left and the 1st right towards Foston. This section of road can be busy!! Once we get to Foston we turn off and can take a breather by the church as we are back on gated and quieter lanes, we head to Willoughby Ashby Magna, Dunton Bassett, Leire and back to Bitteswell.

This is a Ladies Only Road Bike Ride, at probs 11/13 mph. No one will get dropped, I will always stay at the back. This is a ride to Wistow for coffee & cake (or scones) returning via Foston. I have put 30 mins for coffee, the timings are approximate and could vary depending on traffic and weather conditions.

I have tried to select as many quiet lanes as possible however, there is one busy road section between Kilby & Foston than can be quite busy. Once we are off the Kilby to Foston Road, we will be back on quiet lanes. I would not describe this route as flat, however, there are no big climbs, more undulations.

We will stop at the Cafe in Wistow for coffee/tea and or cake (they do nice scones) we will also have a water stop at the Church in Foston if people would like to. I have allowed 30 mins for the stop at Wistow.

Ladies only, Road Bike Ride at approx 11/13 mph. No under 16’s. Helmets are essential, no helmet no ride. Clothing appropriate for the weather. Spare inner tube, tyre levers and a road worthy bike required. Water & money for Tea or Coffee. We have a no drop policy.
