Windmills, Vineyards and Sunday lunch

We will meet at the HCCH Bike Hut which is in the pub car park, for 10.15am, ready for a 10:30 set-off. The pub (The Hassocks Hotel) is right next to Hassocks train station, so you can catch the train to the start if needed. Our route is part of the "Visit Hassocks" cycle routes already mapped out and available here:http://www.visithassocks.co.uk/resources/Hassocks_cycleroute_1.pdf  We’ll ride route 1 which is a combination of both on and off road which is an 8 mile loop. There are some inclines to go up, but nothing too technical. Could be muddy in places, and some of the slopes are quite long, so some confidence would be required for this route.  Mountain bike would be preferable but a good quality hybrid is also ok. Skinny or very slick tyres would not be suitable. We’ll ride at a leisurely-slow pace and never leave anyone behind. We'll stay together as a group, hoping all will help each other and encourage everyone to participate and enjoy the area. Don’t have a bike?  You can hire one on the day from Hassocks Community Cycle Hire at a small cost.  You’ll need to book in advance and don’t forget to tell them you’re on a Breeze ride to get discount. We'll be back at The Hassocks Hotel in time for their Sunday lunch (amazing value at £5!). Family and friends are welcome to join us for the lunch, as long as we know so that we can reserve a table (we'll check before we set off on the ride). You will need layers to put on when we stop; a drink and snack; spare inner tube and a waterproof whatever the weather forecast is saying.
