Starting from - LA22 0LR
The start point is like a layby on the banks of Windermere. Very close to the ferry and opposite Belle Isle.
I would highly recommend using What3words. The link is

There are no toilets at the start but there are some by the ferry just before the start. We will not be back tracking to them when starting the ride!, LA22 0LR

Although this is a road ride as such there are sections of off road at the start but can be ridden on a road bike with care
If you want to average more than 10 mph, this ride is not for you and we will be stopping many times for photos. Please note, it is 3000 feet of climbing, so 3000 feet descending!
From the start we head towards Wray Castle for a quick coffee and comfort break. Do not get settled in, it is not lunch. We then head for Clappersgate Ambleside and Waterhead. Then we climb up towards Troutbeck heading towards Moor Howe then into Windermere and Bowness where we stop for the main break. But not too long.
From Bowness we head to Broom Hill and Fell Foot via Strawberry Bank. Then on to Newby Bridge where we turn for home (well the cars), going through Lakeside, Near Sawrey, Far Sawrey, then dropping down to the ferry before getting back to the cars.
