Join us for a leisurely 16 mile cycle ride from Winder Hall at Lorton (Near Cockermouth) circumnavigating The Mosser Fells towards the hamlets of Brandingill, Dean, Ullock and Mockerkin, From Fangs Brow we start our return along the shores of Loweswater before our final few miles which have fantastic views towards Crummock Water and Buttermere we then return to Lorton Hall for our “Earned” Afternoon Tea. The route can be viewed here: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com?r=5910373 The ride is free, unfortunately you will have to buy your own afternoon tea, we will confirm numbers for food with the Hotel before we leave on the ride, please note there are other alternatives to afternoon tea for those that may have dietary requirements. More info on Winder Hall and their menus can be found here: http://www.winderhall.co.uk/restaurant/afternoon-tea-lake-district/ We will meet at 11.45 to start at 12.00, we plan to be back at Winder Hall between 2.30 and 3 pm, with plenty of opportunities for photos and snack breaks. Free Car Parking has been arranged with Winder Hall, just park in the grounds of the Hall when you arrive we will be returning to this location for Afternoon Tea, There are toilets and a drying room available for anyone that needs to get changed before/after the ride. This ride is perfect for all abilities; the route is on good tarmac surfaces and is suitable for all bicycle types. We will always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind. Our priority on this ride is Afternoon Tea but we must earn it first having fun on our bikes and we always welcome newcomers to our rides. Remember to layer with clothes you are comfortable cycling in, a water proof jacket is advisable; bring a bottle of water maybe some light snacks and we always recommend bringing a spare inner tube to fit your bike and as always a well fitting helmet.
