Hartford Railway Station Chester Road Hartford

This is a mainly off-road bike ride along the Whitegate Way to the Winsford Salt mine, and along the River Weaver to Vale Royal lock. When the weather is good, there is a restricted path linking Hartford to Sandiway, but when the weather is poor, it is better to take a road to Gorstage and back up the hill to Sandiway. From there it is a short road through Cuddington to get to the start of the Whitegate Way. This is an easy, and safer route suitable for beginners and riders new to Breeze. The pace is relaxed and no-one gets left behind. There are views over the Cheshire Plains to Jodrell Bank, and opportunities to see water birds and other wildlife. The roads with traffic are kept to a minimum, and there are only a few small inclines. It is mainly flat and wide paths with no traffic. Coffee stop at the newly refurbished Bowden Room at Winnington Park Rugby Club where you can also park if you let me know - I just need to ask for the gates to be opened early.
