Starting point

South Yorkshire
S6 4TE

This long ride has some challenging climbing and some lovely views to reward you for the effort. We'll set off from the beginning of Loxley Road just pass the traffic lights and climb steadily up past the Admiral Rodney, turn left to Low Bradfield and then up the climb of Blindside Lane with some great views over the reservoirs. We then turn left onto Sugworth Road and then right onto the A57 to drop down to Ladybower. We'll then continue through Thornhill and onwards through Bradwell and Coplow Dale to Tideswell, where we'll stop for refreshments. We then continue through Millers Dale and up a log steady hill, taking a left towards Taddington. From there we have some more climbing, a bit of down and a bit more up before we reach Monyash. We'll continue straight through the village and onwards for a short while before heading left to Youlgreave. A bit of descending takes us down to the A6 which we turn right onto and then immediately right off it again and begin a steep climb before dropping down into Darley Dale. Another challenging climb then takes us up onto the moors and we continue to the top of Curbar Edge and drop sharply down to the foot of Froggatt. Crossing the Froggat road takes us down to a pretty little bridge before we climb back up, turn right an head for Grindelford. A long steady climb takes us up Nether Padley to Fox House. From there we continue to Ringinglow, past the Norfolk Arms and to Lodge Moor before we drop steeply down to Rivelin Valley Road. We'll then use a couple of back lanes to bring us to Stannington Road and back to the start point on Loxley Road. This is a long, hilly and challenging ride, so bring plenty of food and drink. We'll stop for a café break along the way, but you'll need fuel and water as you ride. The ride will be at a moderate pace and we promise never leave anyone behind!
