Starting point

South Yorkshire
S6 4TE

This ride has some challenging climbs but has some lovely views to reward you for the effort. We'll set off from the beginning of Loxley Road and climb steadily up past the Admiral Rodney, turn left through Low Bradfield and then up Blindside Lane. We then turn right onto Sugworth Road and continue to Mortimer Road where we turn left and drop down the A57 to Ladybower and take a left at the lights. We then via Thornhill and Bradwell to Coplow Dale and through the lanes to Tideswell, where we'll stop for coffee and refuelling. We then loop back around to Grindlow, up over the hill past the Barrel Inn and, via some wiggly lanes, to Hathersage. From there we climb up the Dale to RInginglow and return to the start via Lodge Lane and Rivelin Valley. Although this is a challenging ride with some substantial deviations from the horizontal, we'll take our time and there is no pressure to go faster than you want to. We never leave anyone behind!

COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS
This ride is limited to a maximum of six participants. Please do not attend if you have COVID symptoms (new, persistent cough; fever; loss of sense of smell or taste) or if any of your household has symptoms or is isolating. Maintain social distance throughout the ride, including at the start/finish and the café stop. Bring a facemask for use at the café stop. Another ride will be leaving at the same time, so please join the group for this ride and maintain separation from the other group.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS
We recommend that all participants wear a helmet. Please make sure you wear appropriate clothing for the weather. As usual we do expect you to have ensured your bike is roadworthy and that you have carried out basic pre-ride checks; we recommend that you also carry at least one spare inner tube, a pump (CO2 inflators are also highly recommended). It is also a good idea to carry a spare chain link that matches your bike’s chain (e.g. 9, 10 or 11 speed). If you have a mechanical problem we will do our best to assist you and/or lend you an inner tube or repair kit if we can, but it is always best to be self-reliant. Don’t forget to bring money for refreshments and a mobile phone.
