Starting point

South Yorkshire
S6 4TE

We're still working on building up our climbing muscles, so here's another hilly little circuit for you. We'll set off from our usual start point on Loxley Road and climb steadily up through High Bradfield until we turn left onto Mortimer Road. From there we'll ride across Strines Moor to the A57, where we drop down to Ladybower. After turning left at the traffic lights we'll continue past the Yorkshire Bridge and take a left onto a long steady climb up New Road. This leads us to Stannage Edge where we have some amazing views of the crags above us and Hope Valley below us. From there we continue up to Ringinglow and across to Lodge Moor before dropping down to Rivelin Valley and returning (via back roads to keep us off Rivelin Valley Road) to the start. The road climbs steadily up to Worral before dropping sharply down to Oughtibridge. If we fancy a coffee stop on this ride, there is the option to stop either at the Norfolk Arms in Ringinglow or at the nearby Mayfield Alpacas Farm cafe. However, you'll still need to bring food and drink for the rest of the ride! IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS We recommend that you wear a helmet. Please make sure you wear appropriate clothing for the weather. As usual we do expect you to have ensured your bike is roadworthy and that you have carried out basic pre-ride checks; we recommend that you also carry at least one spare inner tube, a pump (CO2 inflators are also highly recommended). If you have a mechanical problem we will do our best to assist you and/or lend you an inner tube or repair kit if we can, but it is always best to be self-reliant. Don’t forget to bring money for refreshments and a mobile phone. DISCLAIMER This is a purely social group of like-minded people sharing a love of cycling, it is not a formal organisation nor does it have any form of legal structure.
