Start of Loxley Road at the bus stop immediately after the pedestrian crossing/traffic lights.

Time for a challenge! This 43 mile ride takes in some of the breathtaking scenery and stunning views of the Peak District. The ride sets off from Malin Bridge and heads out to Low Bradfield and the first of the climbs, which will take us up to Strines Moor. We then drop down to Ladybower and continue towards Hope, turning left through Bradwell, up and down some more hills and to a café stop in Tideswell. We’ll then ride through stunning country lanes to Monsal Head before continuing through Hassop and up the long steady climb of Froggatt. The route then continues to Ringinglow before dropping down into Rivelin Valley and back to the start point. This is a great ride to do if you’ve been with us on previous Wheel Do It! outings. In the weeks running up to it we’ll be putting on a series of rides that will give you the opportunity to build up your stamina. Although the ride is challenging and has some quite long and sometimes steep hills, if you build up to it you will really enjoy it! The ride will be at the pace of the slowest and we will not leave anyone behind – the aim is to finish the distance and to enjoy the trip and we will not be trying to set any speed records! The ride is best done on a road bike or a hybrid with road tyres (it would be hard work on a mountain bike). You will burn a lot of calories on this ride, so don't forget to bring food (chocolate, flapjack, gels, etc.) and water bottles. We will be stopping ata cafe as well, but you will need to keep up your energy levels during the rest of the ride as well. IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS We recommend that you wear a helmet. Please make sure you wear appropriate clothing for the weather. As usual we do expect you to have ensured your bike is roadworthy and that you have carried out basic pre-ride checks; you should also carry at least one spare inner tube, a pump, and tools to enable you to change a tube if necessary. Don’t forget to bring money for refreshments and a mobile phone.
