Starting point

South Yorkshire
S6 4TE

This challenging, hilly route takes us out through Low Bradfield and up Blindside to Mortimer Road before dropping down to Ladybower. We turn left at the traffic lights and continue via Thornhill to Hope, where we turn left onto a winding lane that takes us up a steep climb to the south of Castleton. The route then takes us through more pretty country lanes until we reach Tideswell, where we'll stop for coffee and a bite to eat. We then continue south through Millers Dale until we reach a left turn that takes us to Taddington and then on to Monyash. From there we head west through Crowdecote and then take a sharp left and head towards Hulme End. A left turn then takes us to Hartington (option for another cafe stop) and onwards until we reach Bakewell. We then pass through Hassop and Calver and up the climb of Froggatt, across to Ringinglow and down Lodge Lane to Rivelin Valley to return to the start.
This is a long ride with challenging climbs and requires a good level of fitness (we'd recommend joining us for a shorter ride before coming on a ride of this level). We will ride at a moderate pace and promise that no-one will get left behind! Although we will stop at a cafe, don't forget to bring food and water to fuel your ride. This will be a long day in the saddle!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS
We recommend that all participants wear a helmet. Please make sure you wear appropriate clothing for the weather.
As usual we do expect you to have ensured your bike is roadworthy and that you have carried out basic pre-ride checks; we recommend that you also carry at least one spare inner tube, a pump (CO2 inflators are also highly recommended). It is also a good idea to carry a spare chain link that matches your bike’s chain (e.g. 9, 10 or 11 speed). If you have a mechanical problem we will do our best to assist you and/or lend you an inner tube or repair kit if we can, but it is always best to be self-reliant. Don’t forget to bring money for refreshments and a mobile phone.
