NOTE: RIDE STARTS AT 11AM. Here is another ride in our continuing mission to seek out new roads and new hills, to boldly go where no Wheel Do It! ride has gone before. We'll set off from our usual start point on Loxley Road and climb steadily up through High Bradfield until we turn left onto Mortimer Road. From there we'll ride across Strines Moor to the A57, where we drop down to Ladybower. After turning left at the traffic lights we'll continue past the Yorkshire Bridge and take a right turn through the lanes and head to Bradwell. From there we continue along rolling roads to Eyam where we turn left up a moderate climb up past the youth hostel. After reaching the top of the climb we have a short bit of flat road before we drop down and take a left through a lovely wooded section and some more twisting descents. We then pass through Hathersage and up a stiff climb that eventually takes us to Ringinglow Road. From there we continue to Ringinglow and across to Lodge Moor before dropping down to Rivelin Valley and returning (via back roads to keep us off Rivelin Valley Road) to the start. If we fancy a coffee stop on this ride, there is the option to stop at the nearby Mayfield Alpacas Farm cafe. However, you'll still need to bring food and drink for the rest of the ride! IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS We recommend that you wear a helmet. Please make sure you wear appropriate clothing for the weather. As usual we do expect you to have ensured your bike is roadworthy and that you have carried out basic pre-ride checks; we recommend that you also carry at least one spare inner tube, a pump (CO2 inflators are also highly recommended). If you have a mechanical problem we will do our best to assist you and/or lend you an inner tube or repair kit if we can, but it is always best to be self-reliant. Don’t forget to bring money for refreshments and a mobile phone. DISCLAIMER This is a purely social group of like-minded people sharing a love of cycling, it is not a formal organisation nor does it have any form of legal structure. We do not profess to be trained ride leaders but do have experience of doing so. You are free to choose to ride with us but in doing so please note that you do so in acceptance that this is entirely at your own risk. We cannot accept responsibility for any loss or injury suffered as a result of your participation. Please also read the terms and conditions on the website.
