Starting point

South Yorkshire
S6 4TE

This ride sets off from the usual spot at the start of Loxley Road and heads out through Low Bradfield and up Blindside Lane and Sugworth Road to the A57. From there we drop down to Ladybower where we turn left and continue past the Yorkshire Bridge, where a right turn takes us along pretty lanes through Thornhill to Hope. From there we continue to Edale and tackle the challenging climb of Mam Nick. Once we're over the top we take a right turn and drop down a long descent and through Chapel-en-le-Frith before another stiff climb, Eccles Pike. We then loop round back through Chapel and tackle the day's third major climb, Peaslows, which ultimately brings us out at the top of Winnats Pass. Once we've tackled the steep descent, we continue through Castleton and Hope before taking a left turn up Jaggers and Coggers Lanes (more climbing) to Stannage Edge and return to the start via Ringinglow and Lodge Moor. There is quite a lot of climbing in this ride, but the pace will be leisurely and we'll stop and/or regroup as often as necessary.
COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS
Please do not attend if you have COVID symptoms (new, persistent cough; fever; loss of sense of smell or taste) or if any of your household has symptoms or is isolating. Maintain social distance throughout the ride, including at the start/finish and the café stop. Bring a facemask for use at the café stop.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS
We recommend that all participants wear a helmet. Please make sure you wear appropriate clothing for the weather. As usual we do expect you to have ensured your bike is roadworthy and that you have carried out basic pre-ride checks; we recommend that you also carry at least one spare inner tube, a pump (CO2 inflators are also highly recommended). It is also a good idea to carry a spare chain link that matches your bike’s chain (e.g. 9, 10 or 11 speed). If you have a mechanical problem we will do our best to assist you and/or lend you an inner tube or repair kit if we can, but it is always best to be self-reliant. Don’t forget to bring money for refreshments and a mobile phone.
