Start of Loxley Road just past the bus stop, which is immediately after the pedestrian crossing/traffic lights. For an easier option that avoids the first climb, you can also join the ride opposite the Admiral Rodney pub at about 10:15am (please let us know if you plan to start there either by messaging us on Facebook or using the Let's Ride "Conversation" option at the bottom of the ride description).

This ride is part of a series for people who are new to cycling or maybe haven't been out on a bike for a while. It is a great introduction to the friendly mixed Wheel Do It! group, which for the last year has been running rides designed to gradually encourage people to ride further and climb higher at a pace everyone is comfortable with. We'd love to have you join us! The ride starts with a steady climb up Loxley Road before passing the Nag's Head. At the junction at Damflask Reservoir there is the option to turn left on to New Road for an easy and relatively flat ride or to continue up the hill along Loxley Road. Either way, we will all end up in Low Bradfield where we will stop at the Flask End cafe for coffee and cake. Anyone who wants to can also opt for a second lap around the reservoir before joining the rest of the group at the cafe. IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS This ride is open to adults and to children of 13 years of age or older. Children must be must be registered and accompanied by a parent or guardian (no more than one child per responsible adult). If a child under 15 attends with an adult who is not their parent or guardian, the person making the registration must have the prior written consent of the child’s legal parent or guardian. The adult accompanying the child is fully responsible for the child for the duration of the ride. Children must be competent cyclists and capable of riding safely on the road and in traffic. We recommend that all participants wear a helmet. Children are required to wear a suitable and correctly fitting helmet. Please make sure you wear appropriate clothing for the weather. As usual we do expect you to have ensured your bike is roadworthy and that you have carried out basic pre-ride checks; we recommend that you also carry at least one spare inner tube, a pump (CO2 inflators are also highly recommended). If you have a mechanical problem we will do our best to assist you and/or lend you an inner tube or repair kit if we can, but it is always best to be self-reliant. Don’t forget to bring money for refreshments and a mobile phone. DISCLAIMER This is a purely social group of like-minded people sharing a love of cycling, it is not a formal organisation nor does it have any form of legal structure. We do not profess to be trained ride leaders but do have experience of doing so. You are free to choose to ride with us but in doing so please note that you do so in acceptance that this is entirely at your own risk. We cannot accept responsibility for any loss or injury suffered as a result of your participation. Please also read the terms and conditions on the website.
