Starting point

South Yorkshire
S6 4TE

Alison is going to stop at various points on route to give us the history of the flood that washed out Low Bradfield all the way to Malin Bridge and beyond. It is hard to believe what damage was done.
Dale road is a bit of a climb but it is possible to walk at bits if need be. But if anyone wants to end the tour in Low Bradfield Betty-Ann will be there to take anyone who wants to cut the tour short back to the start.
This ride sets off from the usual spot at the start of Loxley Road just past the traffic lights and heads out through Low Bradfield and up Dale Road to Mortimer Road for an exploration of the history of the Bradfield flood. For this first part of the trip we will ride with Graham's group before turning right onto Mortimer Road and then right again to head back down Windy Bank to Low Bradfield, where we'll stop for coffee and cake. As always, we'll ride at a pace everyone is comfortable with and promise never to leave anyone behind.

COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS
Please do not attend if you have COVID symptoms (new, persistent cough; fever; loss of sense of smell or taste) or if any of your household has symptoms or is isolating. Maintain social distance throughout the ride, including at the start/finish and the café stop. Bring a facemask for use at the café stop.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS
We recommend that all participants wear a helmet. Please make sure you wear appropriate clothing for the weather. As usual we do expect you to have ensured your bike is roadworthy and that you have carried out basic pre-ride checks; we recommend that you also carry at least one spare inner tube, a pump (CO2 inflators are also highly recommended). It is also a good idea to carry a spare chain link that matches your bike’s chain (e.g. 9, 10 or 11 speed). If you have a mechanical problem we will do our best to assist you and/or lend you an inner tube or repair kit if we can, but it is always best to be self-reliant. Don’t forget to bring money for refreshments and a mobile phone.
