Tockholes

Join us on this 13 mile off-road route which takes in beautiful farm tracks and bridleways across the West Pennine Moors. Our route links the fascinating industrial villages of Tockholes and Belmont. See the hidden history from your bike such as the Weavers Cottages and a ruined manor house. There are facilities at Roddlesworth Cafe and breathtaking views of Lancashire everywhere you look. This is a hilly ride and even at 13 miles a real challenge so make sure your gears work and come with your climbing legs on. You'll need grippy tyres on your bike too. If you’re fairly confident on your bike on dirt and gravel surfaces and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Off-Road Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, there is barely a metre of tarmac in sight on these rides so come and enjoy the scrunch of gravel and the squelch of mud under your tyres with us! Rides are between 6 and 15 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour.
