Weekday Wander to Walkern

This ride is 37 miles from Harpenden and great for the experienced rider. If you want to shorten it, you could join (and leave) the ride at Codicote. This will be a 14 mile reduction in distance. Please message me to arrange this.

We will be heading to Walkern via Codicote and Watton and stopping at the lovely Brewery Tearoom. This is a small venue and a personal favourite. This route will be a mix of mostly quieter lanes with some slightly busier roads.

Cafe stop will be about 20 miles into the ride.

There will be hills, no worries we always regroup at the top. :)

Start is by The Marquis of Granby pub, Marquis Ln, Harpenden AL5 5AE
(Bottom of Crabtree Lane) at 9.30 am

Please do check your emails and text messages before leaving, I may have to cancel the ride if it is not safe for us to ride. Fingers crossed :)

The important bits:

Please ensure your bike is in good working order and you have an emergency backup/taxi number to call on in case of issues.

Ride Related:
- check your bike the night before (Tyre pressure will go down when your bike has not been used or from use!)
- carry 2 spare inner tubes, tyre levers and correct pump
- Money for coffee/emergencies. Helmet (compulsory on ride-sorry!)
- Water and a snack, just in case
- Appropriate bright and warm clothing (Rain/Sun – hopefully the latter)
- Lights (not essential but a plus in winter)
