This is a short ride on quiet roads and paths at a gentle pace. We will go at the pace of the slowest rider, enjoy the route. We may need to dismount to pass through a couple of cycle gates and pass over the wandle at Merton Abbey Mills. If anyone would like to join the ride without riding on roads meet us at Merton Abbey Mills - the whole ride to and from there is on paths. Just let me know and we can meet you there. It will leave Furzedown and pass around the back of Figgs Marsh on cycle lanes, up to the Tandem Way Shopping centre. Here we will cross the road on cycle lanes and go on paths along the Wandle all the way to the beautiful Morden Hall Park. Here we can do an extra mile loop around the park if feeling energetic, before stopping at the Potting Shed cafe for a refreshment break such as a cup of tea and cake, or wander around the rose garden or admire the waterwheel or snuff factory. It is a lovely National Trust Site on our doorstep and well worth a visit. We will stop for 30 minutes for a chat before getting back on our bikes and cycling back. The paths are not paved - they are a little bumpy and stony, so very thin road tyres would not be suitable. Hybrid, shopper bikes, commuting bikes should be OK. I will bring a pump before the ride if you would like to check your type pressure. The ride can go on if there is light drizzle but be aware that if it has rained heavily it may be a little muddy on the path. Circumstances change and if you need to cancel on the day, please call and let me know. Also if you have any questions or queries. Jacqui 07908209813
