Come and join our friendly and welcoming group for a great ride to Sutton Coldfield this Wednesday evening :) Meet : from 7:30pm at The Bull Statue, next to the Rotunda, Bullring, City Centre B2 4PA (Is half way between New St and Moor St Stations, plus you can use the canals and cycle route 5 into the city centre). Set off : 7:45pm. Destination: The Duke Inn - Sutton Coldfield http://www.youstayuk.com/experience1735.html Soft drinks and real ale are available. Route: 10 miles approximately there from the Bullring. We will go via Aston Hall and New Hall Valley Country Park, if the canal towpath is not water logged between these two points we will use it if not we'll take another route. Railway Stations: The start point is very close to both Moor St and New St Stations and the Duke Inn is just under half a mile from Sutton Coldfield Station if people wish to return back to Birmingham by train. Bicycles are carried free of charge on local rail services in the West Midlands and it only costs £2 to get the train after 7pm to most stations in the West Midlands County. Last Train times back: Sutton: 2251, 2317, 2344 New St: 2311, 2331, 2359 Bournville: 2325, 2345 Longbridge: 2334, 2354 Alvechurch: 2343 Moor St: 2328 Hall Green: 2340 Shirley: 2346 There are earlier trains back than these if you wish to return home earlier. Lights and a lock are needed. It is worth bringing some extra layers of clothing with you as the temperature can drop after sunset and some water proofs in case of rain. It is also worth bringing some water and a bag in case you get warm and need to remove your jacket. We normally stay at the destination until around 10:30 – 11:15pm. We will try and pair you up with a member of the group for your return journey home were possible, as we all live in different directions. It is fine to return back home as soon as we arrive at the destination if you need to be home earlier. Ride leader: Simon of the pushbikes rides team. It is important to let us know if you are planning on joining us in case of any changes due to the weather etc. (We might go some where closer if there is rain).
