#WeAreFive Tour de Bekesbourne

This ride starts outside JoJo's restaurant, Herne Bay Road, Whitstable (top of Tankerton Slopes). It is mainly on roads that can be busy, so you will need to be confident cycling in traffic. Starting in Tankerton, we will ride through South Tankerton; Chestfield and Canterbury, heading out to Fordwich with a long hill out of Fordwich (but we can walk it), then through country lanes to Bekesbourne where will stop for coffee and cake. On leaving Bekesbourne we will ride out towards Wickambreaux and Grove Ferry, through Upstreet heading towards Herne Bay. Before Herne Bay we will head off back towards Chestfield, ending back in Tankerton. There is a short piece of unmade track in Chestfield where the surface is gravel/pebbles. Essential items required: spare inner tube; pump; suitable clothing for the weather; fluid; piece of food such as a banana or flapjack type food; cash for coffee/cake. Desirable items: helmet.
