Starting point

BN2 1TW

Brighton Pier, Madeira Drive, Brighton, BN2 1TW

An Off-Road Adventure! We’ll take a roll down the seafront to the Marina then take the off-road track up through the golf course and over the race course to the top of Woodingdean and the hills! Cutting across fields, weaving our way east along the South Downs way towards Eastbourne. We’ll cross the river at Southease then climb up a long grassy hill, over undulating hills and down into Alfriston for a well deserved break and a hearty pub lunch. Once well rested we’ll head off by road towards Glynde where we can catch a train back to Brighton after an optional pit stop at Middle Farm. Let’s ride! You will need a bike with mountain bike style tyres suitable for off-road. This is the fourth in a series of cross country rides. This is a longer more challenging ride, not suitable for beginners! Please wear a helmet, bring some refreshments, spares and personal kit. It's a good idea to bring some water and you may also want to bring a snack if you think your energy levels may need topping up along the way.  Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not to worry you can still take part.  If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then. We really welcome newcomers to our rides; we will always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind. For more information please see our blog... www.sheridesbrighton.wordpress.com. Everyone’s welcome – look forward to seeing you there!
