A ‘We Ride’ event – so bring your partner, friends and family! We’ll head out along the cycle path towards Stanmer and on to Lewes, then take country lanes to Glynde and Middle Farm for the Apple Festival. Expect cider tasting, chicken racing, barn dancing, merry prancing, apples ‘n’ pears, country fayre, swing boats, sheeps and goats. A great day out! Due to the likelihood of a cider or two we will not be riding back from the event, however Glynde station is close by to return to Brighton with your bike. Please do not cycle if you have been drinking, Apple Festival cider is strong, bike riding when drunk is lawbreaking and dangerous for you and your bike! The walk back to Glynde station is along country lanes so if you plan to walk we recommend you bring lights and shiny hi-vis clothing. This is a steady paced ride of around 14 miles to the festival. Walk back to Glynde station 2.5 miles. Entrance to the festival costs £10 in advance or £12 on the day, more info can be found here. It's a good idea to bring some water and you may also want to bring a snack if you think your energy levels may need topping up along the way.  Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not to worry you can still take part.  If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then. We really welcome newcomers to our rides; we will always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind. For more information please see our blog... www.sheridesbrighton.wordpress.com. Everyone’s welcome – look forward to seeing you there!
