We are delighted to offer this Challenging route with 1703 feet (519 metres) of climbing in total, pacing the ride to average 10-11 mph over this super scenic route.

Our ride starts with a great stretch through the Cassiobury Estate which should give us a flying start to then head past The Grove golf course towards Chandlers Cross, Belsize and Flaunden. We will descend Rucklers Lane & climb Hyde Lane which is is our main hill challenge and a favourite country lane to climb as it is a quiet, scenic cut through to Bedmond. From Bedmond Tin Church, we take the maze of lanes towards St. Albans emerging on the outskirts of Verulamium Park. Then we'll take you on to the Street Cafe, which may be a new one for you but we think it's worth discovering! :) After coffee and homemade cake or a light lunch, we'll return back to Watford.

Please consider the weather conditions, wear appropriate clothing for the conditions and bring two spare inner tubes - as changing an inner tube is faster than mending a puncture. Watford Cycle Hub sell inner tubes from £4 new should you need to purchase one.

Please check your bike is in good working order before the ride - especially that your brakes are working & your tyres are pumped to the correct pressure.

We are Not-For-Profit, do free bike assessments and should your bike need a tune up or a full service, we'll give you an honest price.

We look forward to riding with you. :)
