Watford Cycle Hub Ride Social: Watford - Chipperfield - Abbots Langley Loop, Paced to Average 11-12 mph over the Route

This is an opportunity to have a quick blast around the best lanes en route from Watford to Bedmond via Chipperfield, and best roads from Bedmond back into Watford through Abbots Langley before dark - though do bring your lights and high vis gear, & two spare inner tubes just in case you have a puncture. This ride will be paced to help you hit an average of 11-12 mph over the route. This ride can also be run again at a more leisurely pace as a Watford Cycle Hub Sunday 10am Ride. As this is an afternoon ride, with civil twilight occuring at 17:12, I would ask that only riders who can comfortably hit this pace come on this ride this time around. I am happy to run it again at a more leisurely pace for Watford Cycle Hub (WCH) or as a Breeze Ride again - as I already have done. : ) The route takes in the ever lovely 'under the Heavens' lanes as the locals call Bottom Lane / Plough Lane en route to Belsize. After Belsize, we have a short steep hill climb via Windmill Hill up to Chipperfield. We will then descend into the valley via Bulstrode Lane and Rucklers Lane before climbing again upto Bedmond via Hyde Lane. Then it's a blast on good roads into Abbots Langley, a descent down Gallows Hill Lane with an opportunity to visit The Kings Head Pub or Cafe Bean Here before we return through Watford to the Hub.
