Starting point

Hertfordshire
WD18 6LB

The route goes along Ebury Way to lock 81 then back along the towpath as far as Cassiobury Park where we cross the bridge into the park. Then we use the shared path partly following the Green Ring around in a loop. We pass two cafes ’Cassiobury Park Cafe’ and ‘Cedar Cafe’ so a choice. The return along part of the Green Ring route through the beautiful nature reserve and back to Watford Cycle Hub with just a short section of road.

On route you can observe the wonderful, peaceful wildlife, butterflies and birds along the canal and pass many interesting narrow boats. We pass three locks. We also pass along by the River Gade and the beautiful surroundings.

Slow to steady pace, largely dictated by the canal towpath and shared parks in the park. Not suitable for road bikes.

Please bring a spare inner tube in case of a puncture - as it's easier to change an inner tube than repair a puncture. Watford Cycle Hub sell inner tubes from £4.50 new should you need to purchase one.

Please check your bike is in good working order before the ride - especially that your brakes are working & your tyres are pumped and wear clothing suitable for the weather conditions and perhaps a backpack so you can put on or take off layers as needed. Also bring some money for our cafe stop if you would like to buy a drink, snack or light lunch.

Watford Cycle Hub can check over your bike and we can pump up your tyres for you if you come in good time before the ride. If your bike might need a little more TLC or hasn't been ridden for a while, you can always bring it in for a free assessment. Watford Cycle Hub are a Not-For-Profit, Community Enterprise and promise to give you an honest price if your bike needs fixing, fine tuning or a full service. :)

We look forward to riding with you. :)
