You don’t have to be the next Bradley Wiggins, but you’ll need to know your way around a bike and be fairly fit to take part in our Challenging rides. If you’re comfortable riding with other people and fancy a fresh challenge, these rides are perfect for you. They start at around twenty miles long, and are paced at between 11 and 12 miles an hour.

From a superb start and finish, with showers, this mini sportive will prepare you for bigger events and cycling club rides. Heading out to the eastern end of The Chilterns there are two flat sections between three lots of climbing.  With two lovely cafe stops there’s plenty of recovery time, great views and quiet fast roads.  This figure of eight route, with a steep twisting descent, has at least four opportunities to cut it short. You will fly along with Buzzards, Red Kites and planes from Luton airport.  A short stretch of poorly maintained road may remind you of the Paris- Roubaix  pave. Finishing with lovely lanes, you will be justly proud to have completed this challenging, varied and brilliant ride.

Please note that this ride contains a number of hills and some participants may find these climbs and the overall ride challenging.
