Car park at Watchtree Nature Reserve.

This is an easy ride from Watchtree Nature Reserve along the quiet country roads of the Solway Plain with gentle inclines rather than hills! There should be panoramic views over the Solway Firth to Scotland and also of the hills of the Lake District. We will always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind, the distance is only a guide as the route will be decided on the day but there are no challenging hills. Our aim is for everyone to enjoy their ride and have a fun sociable ride in the company of other women, build up confidence in riding in a supportive group environment, as well as ask questions about bikes and riding, and make links with others. Remember to wear clothes that are comfortable and suitable for the weather to cycle in. It is a good idea to bring a spare inner tube, waterproof jacket, a bottle of water and a snack. We always recommend that you wear a cycle helmet. There are hot drinks, cake and ice cream at the small Cafe at the Visitors Centre at Watchtree Nature Reserve at the end of the ride, this is operated on a 'honesty box' basis. Toilets also on site.
