Come and join us on an evening loop around Warrington’s cycle paths and parks on this relatively flat 2 hour route.
We start at Sankey Valley car park, just off Cromwell Avenue, heading along the cycle path beside and then over the Sankey Canal. At Sankey Bridges we join the Trans Pennine Trail, following this over the River Mersey towards Lower Walton and Wilderspool beside the Manchester Ship Canal on mainly off-road trails and quiet roads.
Beside Morrisons, we follow the wide cycle path through Latchford, passing Victoria Park and crossing the River Mersey at the Warrington Rowing Club. We then follow the River Mersey, passing nearby allotments and heading through Paddington Meadows.
After crossing Manchester Road, we head up along Spittle Brook and through Woolston Park before passing over the Liverpool-Manchester railway. After passing through Longbarn Park we move onto some slow speed roads, past Padgate Academy and into Orford, where we cut through the open park behind Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub.
Crossing over Winwick Road at the cycle crossings, we pass through Dallam to re-join the Sankey Valley Park. We then follow the cycle path back to where we started at the Sankey Valley car park.
On this ride there are a few sections where it is necessary for us to cycle on the road. We will keep together to support everyone in the group through these sections but may therefore not be suitable for young children.
