Starting point

BA1 3JQ

At the end of the Bristol-Bath Railway Path (NCN Route 4) on Brassmill Lane, Bath (nearest postcode BA1 3JQ).

We start at the end of the Bristol-Bath Railway Path (NCN Route 4) on Brassmill Lane, Bath (nearest postcode BA1 3JQ). We then follow the fantastic traffic-free cycle path alongside the Avon Valley, past Saltford and on to Bitton, where we pass through the steam railway station. From there we continue on the path to Warmley where we will stop for a well-earned coffee and cake at the new Warmley Waiting Station Café, before returning to Bath the way we came. The ride is a total 15 miles (7.5 miles each way), suitable for anyone who's reasonable fit and who rides a bit or who is coming back to cycling. The flat route is suitable for any kind of bike. We'll ride at a gentle pace, at no more than 10-12mph and so with a 20 minute to half-an-hour stop we'll take about 2 hours. This is the first of a series of rides leading up to the Bike Bath weekend on the 28th-29th June, which includes rides of different lengths starting out at 20 or 30 miles.
