The ride starts at Halewood and takes us out through Tarbock Green, skirting country lanes on the fringes of St Helens then onwards towards Warrington. The ride is predominately on roads and quiet lanes however there is a short trail section that can get particularly muddy in wet conditions. The ride has a few hills but is mostly flat or downhill so we will be riding approximately 10/12 mph. We come out at Sankey Bridges head on cycle path up to Walton Hall & Gardens. This park boasts a lavish Elizabethan-style hall with ornamental gardens, a children’s zoo and cycle museum.
We will take a break here at the impressive artisan cafe.
The return journey takes us back along country lanes and cycle paths through Astmoor and Runcorn on over the Jubilee Bridge returning back via Hough Green to the Halewood Environmental Centre.
