Starting point

AL8 6AF

Campus West Cinema, Welwyn Garden City

We will cycle from Campus West Car Park (£1 all day on Sunday) in Welwyn Garden City via quiet roads and traffic free routes to the home of famous playwright George Bernard Shaw for 44 years. The House is now managed by the National Trust. There will be an exhibition of vintage bicycles which you might try out. You can also walk around the extensive gardens and, if it is open, the house which has been left as it was when Shaw occupied it. There is no cafe but it is a wonderful place for a picnic so bring some food and drink. It's worth reading up on the house and gardens before you come. We will leave from the car park at Campus West in Welwyn Garden City .Our ride is free but there is a charge for entry to the gardens. Bring a lock, lights if you are coming from further afield, and suitable clothes for the weather. See http://www.welhatcycling.org.uk
