A lovely country route with a mix of farm, woodland and country scenery. We will cycle through Sandwich, Woodnesborough, Eastry and after following the cycle path alongside the A256 we will go through West Langdon, East Langdon, St. Margaret’s-at-Cliff, Kingstown, Walmer and back through Sandwich to our start. Our ride includes the favourite long downhill cycle route into Kingsdown.
Refreshments will be at the Cafe on the Green at Walmer.
Please note this is a challenging route due to the hills and the distance. For this reason this ride is more suited to stronger cyclists. We will cycle on mostly quiet country lanes but there are a couple of occasions where we will be on busier roads so you must be confident at riding on and crossing busier roads.
Our refreshment stop is a community-run, cash only, kitchen where home-made soups and cakes are on offer. The locals are friendly and we will be given a warm welcome.
Helmets are compulsory.
Remember to bring a spit in a tube and tools to remove your wheel/tire, as well as a drink and any snacks you might need to sustain you.
A new route from Grove Ferry to Shepherdswell.
Mostly quiet country roads and lanes.
