Lovely Route through the middle of London on the quieter roads where possible, via Hamstead at Spaniards Gate and along to Alexandra Palace, which I think offers the best view of London - often all the way across to Crystal Palace and the QE2 Bridge. (depends on weather) There is some uphill on this route, so it is a great chance to start the year with a little climbing. Two main ones - up the heath and up to Ali Pali, with some downhill in between. Check your brakes and tyres before the ride, esp if they have had a rest over the holidays. You will get the chance to stand under the classic transmitter seen as an icon of the BBC radio. Here you can get refreshed and then head home. There is a train link into Euston, or you can join me in the first Vegan Life fair. It promises to be interesting and the venue inside is as lovely as the outside - fantastic light brought in though the stained glass windows. I will be cycling back around into London in the afternoon, via Finsbury Park and directly into Old Street and through the city. This route does have traffic but is an iconic cycle location. You need tickets for the Vegan Life Fair but they are on offer in advance and also come free with certain publications - check online for offers.
